Now I'm not really into fancy restaurants or French cuisine but a friend recommended La Estancia for a special night out so I decided to take my wife there for her birthday.
The ambience we felt as we walked in was of warmth and style, very relaxing and cosy with a 5 star feel. A very friendly waiter escorted us to our table and left us to look through the menu. A spring offer was available for only 23€ per person consisting of about a dozen different dishes from starters to deserts but as we are not great eaters we decided to go for the a la carte.
As we waited for the food we were offered some fish soup to try with some hot bread followed by another type of bread, then another type, none of which, incidentally, was included in bill. I had ordered a chicken dish and my wife went for some fish, the names I can't remember because they were all in French however I do remember how fabulous they were and how nicely they were presented.
So, if you want to wine and dine in style and feel really special by the attention that you'll be given by the fabulous waiters and waitresses and of course try some fabulous French cuisine from the winners of the 2003 Gastronomy Awards for best restaurant in the canary islands, then there's just one place to go, La Estancia.
