Salobre Golf & Resort is located in the south of the island of Gran Canaria, and is well sign posted on both sides of the motorway.

On arrival the first thing that impresses you is the personal service that you receive.

No sooner have you taken your clubs from the car and there is a member of staff waiting to take them to your buggy near the first tee, while you are paying for your green fees.

When you walk down to the buggy with your clubs on you are presented with a set of tees, ball marker etc as well as a booklet explaining all the holes - especially handy if you have not played the course before.

All green fees include the price of a buggy, as no-one is allowed to play without one. Each buggy is fitted with bottled water and a ball cleaner.

You are also informed that you cannot drive the buggy on the fairways, only on the paths that run adjacent to each hole, thus preserving the quality of the fairways.

The quality of the fairways and greens are superb, and one of the holes has a drive over a small lake which has various geese and ducks sitting on a small boat in the middle of it.

At this moment in time building work is being done on the new villas and apartments which overlook the course, and therefore this is the only fault with the course at present, with the incessant noise of trucks, diggers and drills etc. However you tend to forget about the noise after a short while as you take on the challenge of this well designed course.

After three and a half hours resulting in the final putt on the eighteenth, you are once again greeted by the Salobre Golf staff who ask you if you have enjoyed the course and also to once again relieve you of your clubs whilst you make your way to the clubhouse for a well earned drink and meal.

In reflection the Salobre Golf & Resort is a quite beautiful course in good condition and with a personal service I have never received elsewhere.
