Carnival in Gran Canaria: Culture in Gran Canaria

There are numerous cultural scenes from the architecturally Vegueta area of Las Palmas with towns such as Telde to Teror typifying the colonial past.

Although Tenerife Santa Cruz is well known for Carnivals, Gran Canaria has an annual carnival in Las Palmas supported by local fiestas throughout February.

Amongst these Carnivals the Drag Queen carnival is probably the most enjoyable, even for hetrosexuals.
The Festival de Opera is another excellent carnival.
