Aproximately 500m away from Real Bellavista Hotel & Spa, in Quinta dos Brejos, the Algarve Golf Academy has a driving range, putting green and the most complete practice area for short game. Daniel Silva is a former European tour player and 2 time winner on tour, he was recently voted Portugal´s best ever player by the Portuguese Golf Federation, and has been coaching full time since 2000.

Locally:

Situated in the extreme south of Portugal, the Algarve was the final piece of territory to be conquered from the Moors by the Portuguese King D.Dinis in 1292. Traces of Moorish presence are still seen in its architecture – terraces, chimneys and whitewashed houses.

However, the distance that was so difficult to cover back in the thirteenth century is no longer an obstacle, owing to investment in modern roads. The recent building of a motorway has reduced the journey time from Lisbon to the Algarve to just 3 hours, and the Via do Infante will soon stretch from one end of the Algarve to the other.

Visiting this fascinating region and enjoying its idyllic beaches and ideal temperatures for relaxation and golf as well as other sports is increasingly easy and tempting.

In the northern part of the Algarve, the hills of Espinhaço, Cão, Monchique and Serra do Caldeirão shelter the coast from strong winds. This brightly coloured region, with its fig trees, orange groves and almond trees in blossom complement the verdant green of the vegetation and fertile land so characteristic of the whole of the northern Algarve.

In strong contrast with the north, the southern Algarve is a coastal zone with long stretches of sandy beach, separated by extraordinary rugged cliffs and fantastic grottoes.
