A CENTRE OF GOLF
Amathus Beach Hotel Paphos has been appointed the official winter base of the Professional Golf Association of Germany. This recognition speaks both to our location as a golfing destination and to our dedication to our golfing guests.

There are three world-class golf courses within an easy drive of our resort: Aphrodite Hills, Tsada Golf Club and Secret Valley Golf Club.

APHRODITE HILLS
Aphrodite Hills is a magnificent 18-hole golf course designed by acclaimed course architect Cabell B. Robinson. The course follows the contours of the two plateaux, with challenging fairways meandering though lakes, olive and carob trees. The course ends with the 18th green, overlooking the spectacular waters of the Mediterranean.

TSADA GOLF CLUB
Located about 15 km northeast of Paphos on the hills of Tsada, this course is set on the grounds of a twelfth-century monastery. Designed by Donald Steel, the course is about 550 metres above sea level, allowing for cooling off-shore breezes in the summer.

SECRET VALLEY GOLF CLUB
Secret Valley Golf Club is located 18 km east of Paphos. An 18-hole championship golf course, it�s set amid mature trees and beautiful sculpted rock formations.

DISCOVER CYPRUS
Located within walking distance of the old castle, Amathus Paphos is ideal for both a resort-style holiday and one exploring the history and heritage of the area.

BEACHES
The western part of Cyprus is rich with your choice of beaches. Besides the beach on our property, there are several you might consider exploring. North of Kato Paphos is Faros Beach, a sandy beach with some sandstone rock. Further out is Kissonerga Bay. A much quieter beach with banana plantations on its perimeter, it’s ideal for a day of tranquility. Further north still is Coral Bay, the area’s most popular sandy beach.

DIVING
The sea around Paphos is a diver�s dream. The Amphorae Reef offers a wonderful place to explore, with a ship beached on the reef and its cargo of pottery to discover. Another source for exploration is the Vera K, which sank in the 1970s and now offers divers a destination. There are several diving companies in the area.

LOCAL HISTORY
KATO PAPHOS
The archaeological history of Kato Paphos, or Lower Paphos, is remarkable both for its extensive beauty and its accessibility. An easy walk from the resort’s door, you’re able to explore thousands of years of history.


PAPHOS MOSAICS
This extraordinary site occupies the western part of Kato Paphos, or lower Paphos. Easily accessible, it is not to be missed.
Discovered in 1962, the site offers 2,000 years of history and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. The main sites include four villas. In the House of Dionysos, the mosaics are remarkably well preserved. Walk across wooden platforms to view the mosaics, each of which tell a story.
The House of Orpheus, the House of Aion and the House of Theseus are also open for exploration.


ROMAN ODEON
The Roman Odeon sits on the same grounds as the Paphos Mosaics. Still in use for classical performances in the summer, this small theatre offers a good view of the surrounding area and is a well-preserved example of Roman architecture.
